Strengthen your safeguarding awareness, judgement, and day-to-day professional practice with this focused CPD for residential childcare practitioners. This course explores how safeguarding operates in everyday care, helping staff recognise behavioural, emotional, and contextual indicators that may signal concern, respond with professional curiosity, and maintain safe, consistent practice.
The training covers safeguarding in daily practice, behaviour as communication, recording and information sharing, professional boundaries, emerging safeguarding risks, and reflective decision-making. It is designed to support practitioners working in complex residential environments where young people may communicate distress indirectly and where small concerns can become significant over time.
This CPD is suitable for residential childcare practitioners, support workers, and staff working with children and young people in care settings. It includes structured content, knowledge checks, reflective tasks, and certificate generation on successful completion. A minimum score of 80% is required to receive the certificate.
Duration: Approximately 120 minutes
This course is designed at a Level 2 standard to support practitioner-level understanding.
